UISD’s Human Resources Department is excited to announce the hiring of the District’s 1000th substitute.
UISD has been hard at work filling job openings all over the District, including substitutes. The District has officially filled 1000 substitute positions, which include 996 Substitute Teachers, 3 Substitute Nurses, and 1 Substitute Auxiliary Staff member.
Substitutes play a vital role in UISD, as they step in to cover teacher and staff absences. Once an applicant has gone through the hiring process and is cleared to work for the District, Human Resources conducts orientations to familiarize new personnel with classroom management, as well as the policies, procedures, and safety protocols of the District. UISD also certifies all substitutes in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training through the Special Education Department, to prepare them for working in special education classes.
“The United ISD Human Resources department strives to hire the best substitutes for our District to meet and service the needs of our students. It's always Children First,” said Program Coordinator for Substitutes Patti Gutierrez.
Anyone interested in applying at UISD can complete an application online by going to www.uisd.net, or call (956) 473-6273 for more information.
