UISD Promotes Adamina Meza to Principal at San Isidro Elementary School

After serving as Assistant Principal at Kazen and San Isidro Elementary schools, Adamina Meza has been promoted to be the new principal of San Isidro Elementary School.

“I am thrilled and ready to be principal at San Isidro,” said Meza. “It is an honor to continue to lead our dedicated and hard working faculty and staff, ensuring that we continue providing the best education to our students.”

Meza is excited and honored to start the year in this new leadership position and ready to continue focusing on high quality teaching and learning.

“At San Isidro we empower our students to become scholars, and it reflects with our consistent and stellar student achievement in academics, sports and all our extracurricular teams,” she adds. “I have a passion for my job and lead through open communication and collaboration with all our teachers, staff, and parents.” 

Meza says her goal in her job is to continue to impact student achievement driven by high expectations, building capacity through teacher leaders, partnering with parents, and helping all reach their maximum potential.

Meza’s career started as a teacher at Kazen Elementary in 2001. She then served as Assistant Principal at Kazen from 2016 to 2019.  Meza became Assistant Principal at San Isidro in 2020, where she is moving up to principal.

“I am very grateful to God, the UISD Board of Trustees and our Superintendents in Charge for this amazing opportunity,” states Meza.

Meza graduated from Texas A & M International University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Bilingual/Elementary education. She also holds a Master of Science in Education with a Principal certification.

Her previous jobs include Child Nutrition Services Program Administrator for Zapata County ISD and Chief Deputy Tax Assessor/Collector for the Zapata County Tax Assessor/Collector’s Department.

In her spare time Meza enjoys creative arts, interior decorating and spending time with her family.
