United South Middle School students, led by Art Teacher Monika Sanchez, were featured in this year’s Crayola Creativity Week school assembly.
“Our students showcased their amazing creativity in a special video, sharing how they put their “Imagination in Action” every day,” said Sanchez.
“This was a global event, and we’re so proud to represent our school, district and community!”
Among the students that participated were those from the Leopards’ dance team, cheer team, color guard, band and art club from grades 6th, 7th and 8th.
"It was really nice to incorporate all the creative organizations on campus and see how everyone's creativity makes our campus shine."
USMS Principal Carlos Valdez is very supportive of his team of teachers and students frequently featured on an international scale.
"We are incredibly proud of our students and Ms. Sanchez for being part of such a prestigious global event. Their creativity, talent, and hard work truly exemplify the spirit of our school. It’s an honor to see our students shine on an international stage, representing not only United South Middle School but also our entire community."
The event took place on January 31, and everyone could view it online on YouTube at Crayola Learning. See UISD shine at time code 36:37.
