UISD Athletics and Alexander High School is proud to announce the selection of Marissa Pinchback as the new Head Girls Track and Field Coach. With over a decade of experience in both the classroom and on the field, Coach Pinchback brings a proven record of leadership, program development, and athlete mentorship to the Bulldog athletic program.
A Laredo native and former collegiate track and field athlete at the University of Texas–Pan American (2005–2008), Coach Pinchback returns home with a passion to give back to the community that shaped her. Since 2019, she has served as Head Girls Track & Field Coach at San Marcos High School, where she rebuilt the program, implemented structured year-round training, and advanced multiple athletes to Area and Regional competitions.
In addition to her coaching experience, Coach Pinchback is a seasoned educator, having taught physical education and academic support at the high school and elementary levels since 2011. Her coaching résumé includes assistant roles in cross country, soccer, volleyball, and track and field.
“Coach Pinchback is a passionate, student-centered leader who emphasizes discipline, structure, and accountability,” said Campus Athletic Coordinator Edwin Garcia. “She’s a relationship-builder who sets high standards and genuinely invests in every athlete’s growth—on the track and in life.”
Alexander High School Principal Rosana Arizola added, "We are excited to welcome Coach Pinchback as our new head girls track coach. With her passion, dedication and commitment to student success, we are confident she will inspire our athletes to new heights both on and off the track. Welcome to the Bulldog Family."
Bobby Cruz, UISD Athletic Director, added, "We are proud to add Coach Pinchback to our staff at Alexander High School. We are excited to welcome back home a Laredoan to lead our girls and to make a positive impact on our athletes."
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Bulldog family,” said Coach Pinchback. “Being a successful coach goes beyond teaching technique—it’s about creating a culture where athletes feel supported, valued, and challenged to reach their full potential. I’m honored to return to Laredo and give back to the city that helped shape who I am.”
