The UISD Department of Athletics and United South High School are proud to announce the hiring of Cesar Oldham as the new Head Coach of the Panther Swimming Team.
A 2010 graduate of Nixon High School, Coach Oldham brings experience in both competitive swimming and baseball, along with nearly a decade of experience in aquatics. He currently serves as an English teacher at United South, and now expands his role on campus by stepping into this new leadership position as head coach for the Panthers.
Coach Oldham holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M International University (Class of 2023) and has been a well-respected teacher at United South.
Coach Oldham shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity.
“I am excited to be the United South High School Swimming Coach! Having been a part of this amazing school community as a teacher, I've seen firsthand the dedication and potential of our students,” he said. “I am eager to combine my love for swimming with my passion for mentoring young people, and I look forward to building a program that emphasizes not only competitive excellence but also sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.”
Bobby Cruz, UISD Director of Athletics, expressed his support for the new head swimming coach.
"We are excited to bring Coach Oldham on board at South. We look forward to him working with our swimmers, developing our program, and making a positive impact on our Panthers,” Cruz said.
Martha Alvarez, Principal of United South High School, added, "We welcome Coach Oldham to the Panther family. With his passion, dedication, and enthusiasm, we are confident he will inspire our students inside the pool as well as the classroom. Go Panthers!"
