Ana Regina Guerra, founder of the Queens Bee Kind Project and published author of “The Little Queen Bee,” hosted the 3rd Annual Youth Leadership Symposium this month at the Barrio de Brazil Reception Center. Ana Regina, an accomplished 14-year-old leader and incoming freshman at United High School Engineering and Magnet, is on a mission to uplift and empower the next generation of changemakers.
“It brings me immense joy that with my project I’m able to highlight the accomplishments and contributions of our youth in the community,” said Guerra. The Queens Bee Kind Project promotes kindness, positivity, and leadership among young leaders in the community, encouraging them to step into their potential and make a difference.
This year’s symposium carried the theme “Celebrate Today’s Youth and Tomorrow’s Leaders” and recognized 25 outstanding young leaders, including several UISD elementary, middle, and high school students.
UISD Board Member for District 7, Dianelle Martinez was invited as a guest speaker and shared an inspiring message. “Leadership is about stepping up when no one else will. It’s about turning challenge into change and passion into purpose,” Martinez said. “And that’s what these students have done.”
Ana Regina is also a former Miss Preteen Texas International, National American Miss Teen Texas, Miss Little Texas Latina, and Miss Little Laredo.
Martinez added, “I am beyond proud of Ana Regina and all our UISD students who were recognized. They are not only tomorrow’s leaders; they are today’s leaders. They are contributing to our community, setting the example, and representing our city and school district with pride.”
Notable guest speakers included Azul “Slimerella” Garibi, Judge Bobby Quintana, Erica Contreras, and the Founders of the Seven Flags Foundation.
